Love the blacked-out look, but don’t want to spend a fortune on getting your tail lights professionally tinted? This Lens Tint spray will get you gorgeous results in just a few minutes. And the best part? You can peel it off whenever you want. Here’s how to do it.
- PREPARE: Always work in a well-ventilated area, like your open garage. Using painter’s tape and masking paper, mask off the area around your car’s tail lights to protect it from overspray. You may also want to lay down a drop cloth to protect the floor from paint.
- SPRAY: Shake your can of Peel Coat Lens Tint for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Then, hold the can 10-16” away from the first tail light and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion over the light. Apply 3-4 light coats a few minutes apart. Do not exceed four coats. Repeat this step on your second tail light.
- FINISH: Let your tail lights dry completely for 24 hours before taking them out on the road.
- REMOVE: When you’re ready to remove the tint, slowly rub one edge of the paint until it starts to peel up. The coating will peel off in large pieces. We recommend peeling your tail lights within six months of applying.
